French onion soup recalled for undeclared wheat after consumer complaint
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says one reaction has been reported after consuming the soup, which was sold in Alberta and online.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a Class 1 recall for Soup Time brand French Onion Soup because it contains wheat that is not declared on the label.
One reaction associated with consuming the product has been reported, the agency said.
The recall applies to the product with UPC 6 28250 50659 4, and to all codes where wheat is not declared on the label.

The CFIA said the recall was triggered by a consumer complaint and confirmed that one reaction associated with consumption of the product has been reported.
The soup was distributed in Alberta and was also sold online.
People with a wheat allergy, celiac disease or other gluten-related disorders are advised not to consume the affected soup.
"Undeclared wheat can pose a serious health risk to people with an allergy or sensitivity," the CFIA said in its recall notice.
Consumers are being advised to check whether they have the affected product at home.
"Recalled products should not be consumed, served, used, sold or distributed," the agency said.
The soup should be thrown out or returned to the location where it was purchased.
The recall has been classified as Class 1, the highest risk classification used for food recalls in Canada.
The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which could lead to additional products being recalled.
The agency is also verifying that the affected product is being removed from the marketplace.
The recalling company is Soup Time Alberta Inc.
More information about the recall, including product details, is available through the Government of Canada’s recalls and safety alerts website.
