Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency have issued new recall notices for food and consumer products sold through major Canadian retailers. The recalls include a chocolate movie night set sold at Walmart, mooncakes, heated blankets and heating pads, and certain Galanz retro refrigerators. The agencies warn of undeclared allergens and fire and burn hazards. Consumers are advised to check their products and report any incidents.

The recalled chocolate was sold as part of a movie night set at Walmart stores in Canada. The CFIA did not share photos of the recalled product. A separate food recall was issued for certain White Lotus Seed Paste Mooncake with 2 egg yolks due to undeclared peanut. Certain Galanz Retro Refrigerators were recalled due to fire and burn hazards. Only refrigerators with model number GLR76TRDER and date codes ranging from December 2018 through December 2020 are impacted. The model number and date code are printed in the MMYYYY format on a white label on the back of the fridge.

The description states the refrigerators have doors with handles on the left side with handle variations, three adjustable glass shelves, one drawer and one glass shelf. The freezer has a separate door. The packaging of the heated blankets and heating pads was also part of the recall notices. Product information for the recalled heated blankets and heating pads is found outside the packaging. Health Canada and the CFIA publish recall notices for food and products sold through stores and marketplaces including Costco, Amazon, Walmart, Canadian Tire and Whole Foods Market. Consumers can check for more recall notices published by the agencies online. For locally-based recall alerts, people can enter the first three characters of their postal code.

Consumers can report any health or safety incidents related to the use of products by filling out a consumer product incident report form. You can report a food concern or complaint to the CFIA. Report any drug or health product side effects or complaints to Health Canada. To report a health or safety complaint with a cannabis product, fill out the cannabis reporting form online.
