The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has recalled President's Choice English-Style Gingersnap Cookies sold across Canada due to metal wire.

The recall notice was published on Thursday.

"Do not use, sell, serve or distribute the affected product," the CFIA warned in their recall notice.

The affected product is the 350-gram package with UPC number 0 60383 76819 5 and best before dates of 2027 FE 08 and 2027 MR 14.

The CFIA said they were distributed nationally and consumers are being advised to not use, sell, serve, or distribute the cookies.

A Loblaw spokesperson confirmed the recalled cookies were sold at all Loblaw banners in Ontario, including Shoppers Drug Mart, Real Canadian Superstore, Fortinos, Loblaw, Valu-Mart, Your Independent Grocer, Zehrs, No Frills, Wholesale Club and affiliated independents.

The recalling firm is Loblaw Companies, which owns the President's Choice brand.

The CFIA has listed this as a class two recall, which its website says is for cases where, "There is a moderate risk that consuming the food may lead to short-term or non-life threatening health problems."

Officials didn't provide more details as to the reasoning behind the recall.

It's the second recall notice to be issued for a President's Choice product just this week.

As reported, the CFIA published an alert earlier this week for two products: one from the SeaQuest brand and the other from President's Choice.

Officials said they were being pulled from shelves due to undeclared mustard, which is a priority food allergen in Canada.

The CFIA said they were distributed nationally.
