Betsson Group has announced the creation of the Betsson Foundation as a dedicated vehicle for coordinating and scaling the company’s social impact activities.

Jonna Danlund, director of ESG at Betsson, said the foundation aims to create lasting positive impact.

“Through the Betsson Foundation, we aim to create lasting positive impact by supporting worthy causes, fostering long-term partnerships, and bringing together initiatives that strengthen communities across our locations,” Danlund said.

The company has maintained a long-standing commitment to supporting various organisations and local communities through its partnerships with football clubs and athletes.

This has resulted in a number of fundraising activities, grassroots projects, and community and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

These activities will now be centrally managed and coordinated by the foundation, where employees, partners and local organisations across Betsson’s markets collaborate under a shared framework to increase their long-term impact.

Incorporated as a separate legal entity in Malta, the Betsson Foundation will be governed by the founding company, a Board of Administrators, and a Supervisory Council.

Betsson Group explained that this governance structure ensures effective supervision and accountability while encouraging the foundation’s philanthropic activities in compliance with all legal requirements.

Sports will remain a central focus of these activities, with the foundation leveraging Betsson’s global sports footprint to expand its social impact initiatives.

Jesper Svensson, chief executive officer of Betsson Operations, added that sport and community engagement have long been part of Betsson’s DNA.

“The launch of the Betsson Foundation strengthens our ability to support the people, programmes and organisations making a positive difference in our communities,” Svensson said.
“It also gives us the opportunity to work even more closely with our clubs and athlete partners to connect the power and reach of sport with meaningful community initiatives,” he added.
