TORONTO · Redtag.ca will donate one per cent of its eligible vacation sales on Tuesday to buy toys for children at The Hospital for Sick Children. The travel marketplace said the initiative is part of a company-wide holiday giving campaign called Hope. Inspire. Smile. The campaign is led by redtag.ca's parent company, H.I.S. Canada Travel. Canadians can contribute by booking a trip through the website, mobile app or by phone on Oct. 28.

"Our partnership with SickKids means a great deal to all of us at H.I.S. Canada Travel," said Nathalie Tanious, President and CEO of H.I.S. Canada Travel Inc. "Through this initiative, we're bringing our teams and customers together to help brighten the holidays for children receiving care. Turning travel bookings into toys is a simple but meaningful way to create moments of joy for children and their families." The company said the effort builds on an 11-year partnership with SickKids Foundation. H.I.S. Canada Travel and its family of brands have raised more than $3.7 million for the foundation over that period. The holiday campaign also supports other charitable organizations across Canada. It involves the company's brands, employees, travel advisors and industry partners.

Eligible bookings include vacation packages, flights, hotels, car rentals and cruises. Customers can book online at redtag.ca, use the mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, or call 1-866-5-RED-TAG. The company said the promotion allows travellers to plan their next getaway while supporting a charitable cause. Redtag.ca describes itself as Canada's largest travel marketplace. It is part of the H.I.S Canada Travel Inc. and travelbrands family. The company said it focuses on providing value and convenience to travellers. It has been operating for more than 20 years.
